Last night MJ wasn't feeling well.
He woke up from his nap almost sweating, he was so hot.
He's screaming his head off, hot as can be and I decide to take his temperature.
He was throwing a full out FIT. Thermometer in and it keeps going up.
Past 99, 101, 102, and lands on 103.7.
Uhhh...
Mini freak out moment.
So I let him calm down a little, give him some Pedialyte, and try again.
99.9.
Okay, that's better.
But he was clearly still not feeling well. All he wanted to do was cuddle. And this is very rare these days.
I rocked Big T to sleep until he was almost 2 years old.
He didn't NEED to be rocked, but I loved the closeness I felt with him.
MJ wanted to be rocked, and I was more than happy to get the extra snuggles.
So we sat in his room, with the lights off and his mobile projecting on the ceiling, and I rocked him.
He never used to let me rock him that much when he was a baby. Big T loved it, but MJ could have cared less.
So the fact that he wanted to just lay on me, I loved.
He sat, facing me, with his little legs on either side of my hips and his chest pressed against my stomach. His head laying softly on my chest, I could hear him breathing.
His chest would rise and fall and he'd make this little pitiful moan in between every breath. It broke my heart and made me smile a little at the same time because it was so dang cute.
His tiny hands were curled up in a ball and rested on my chest, next to his face. And I just pressed my lips against his soft baby hair.
He didn't smell like a baby anymore. He smelled like a clean little boy.
I smiled and a tear fell from the corner of my eye as I thought about how lucky I was in that very moment.
How, regardless of the fact that I had a sickly baby, he was with me, in my arms.
And how there would be several parents who would go to sleep that night without getting to hold their child.
I prayed.
And I thanked God for all I had, and all I have been blessed with.

It is moments like those that make me think I can't be done having children.
I may be an "unconventional mom" most of the time. I believe in tough love, but deep down, I long to nurture my children, protect them from the evils of this world. I do the best I can, as that's all we can do.
The Hubs has been making more and more comments lately about having another baby when the boys get into school.
I brush them off, thinking it would never happen, but really... maybe one day it will...
Until that day comes... I thought I'd share my adorable family with you all.
