Tucker's Transplant

"I have a friend with a very sick little boy, Tucker. He has poly cystic kidney disease and is on dialysis from 8pm-11am every day. He has been in and out of he hospital since he was born. They are currently on the transplant list and have been for several months. It's a 24 hour surgery that will replace his liver and both kidneys. The hospital they drive to weekly for appointments is 2 hours away. They are struggling this year for not only the necessities but as well as the fun stuff. I think it would be great if we could help this family out with gas gift cards, toys, diapers, maybe even something for the mamma who know has to stay at home all day and do meds, dressing changes on his port, etc.
I would greatly appreciate the help for this family."
"We found out that Tucker would be born with no kidneys at my 20 week ultrasound. They warned me he wouldn't make it. He came 3 weeks early and has been a fighter ever since. The first year of his life he was in the hospital 282 days out of the 365. He has had over 14 surgeries since he was born. The first one being only 3 days old. The first day he got to come home he was life-flighted back the next day with a high fever. A simple cold could take his life. We are currently waiting on the transplant list for a new liver and kidneys. He will have to have another one at 16, at which time I will give him one of mine. He is currently on 12 medications including dialysis throughout the night. He has never been in a pool or taken a real bath. He has exceeded everything the doctors told us he wouldn't be able to do. We currently go to the doctor once a week for check-ups. I gave up my job to stay home and take care of him as he needs 24 hour around the clock assistance.
I am so grateful for you doing this for our family and for my dear friend for nominating us. I would have never worked up the courage to do it, call it pride..but I don't see our son as a "disadvantage", and see him more as a blessing."

Hurricane Sandy Angel

"There is not ONE that I feel in my heart needs or deserves this more than my dear friend, Dawn. November 12th, she lost her husband to a terrible tree accident while he and some other relatives were volunteering & helping victims of Hurricane Sandy. Their family lost their father, husband and sole provider while he was paying it forward, himself. David Freberg was a great man. With that being said, Dawn is also an amazing woman and is now trying to figure out how they will manage without him. Their family consist of two boys, 8 & 2 years old and one daughter only 9 months old. I know that she has a long road ahead of her but with the help of friends, family & community, maybe this Christmas could bring some hope to a beautiful family whom, by the Grace of God, will find some peace through this heartbreak. I've included a few links below for anyone that wants to know more about the story."
The kids are Emma, 9 months, Ethan (3) & Aiden (8). Any help with toys, clothes, gift cards or even household items will surely help lighten the burden for this family.

You know this story pulled at my heart strings because I, too, have a Tucker. Or "Big T" as you all know him.
This family is in need of gift cards (Target, Walmart), gas cards (Quik Trip), anything to Tucker stay occupied while in "baby jail" -aka- hospital crib (movies, games, etc.), and a good stroller to take Tucker on walks around the university campus for breaks and fresh air (perhaps gift cards to Babies R Us for a stroller?)

Needing Santa

"I'm writing in about my sister and her family. My sister and brother in law have two beautiful children, two girls ages 4 and 8. A few months ago my sister came down with some health issues which have caused her to have to cut back on her work hours. Her family was already struggling financially, worrying about paying the mortgage and car payments, and then she had to cut her work hours down. She is now struggling to buy enough food, and called me crying the other day because she had run out of peanut butter and bread and her girls were still hungry and it was two days before payday. She is so stressed out that it worries me greatly. Both of her girls have birthdays in December. This is the first year that she has told the girls they cannot have a birthday party. She simply cannot afford to buy birthday gifts and decorations, much less pay for a party for school friends. And she has made peace with that, we are having a small family get-together for the girls birthdays. But what is really stressing her out is Christmas. She can explain to the girls that she doesn't have money for Christmas gifts - but how do you explain that SANTA doesn't have money to bring gifts? I wish I could help her, I am trying when I can to bring food, but my husband and I have 6 kids ourselves and are just making ends meet this Christmas.
I would love if someone could help my sister by getting a few things for Santa to bring her girls. Nothing big or expensive, just stocking stuffers and maybe one or two toys or stuffed animals would make such a huge difference, allowing the girls to wake up Christmas morning to the magic of the crumbs on the cookie plate right next to a stocking of gifts. Any help would be greatly appreciated!"
